 About UsDear Reader,
Welcome!
Let us introduce ourselves; we are Ian and Carol Wallace and we run and own Pets in Paradise. Until starting Pets in Paradise together, Ian had spent most of his working life in I.T. and Insurance, and I had worked in the Design Industry and latterly as a Funeral Director. We have two children who are supposedly away at University, though they do seem to spend an awful lot of time at home - maybe weve made it all too comfortable!
Then there are our Pets of course, our two cats - lovely Lucia and beautiful Bella and a fish called Patch. Over the years we have had many pets of all kinds, mostly animals whom we had acquired due to their being in need of a home, and when the children were little we had a house full!
One such pet was Bomber; a hamster found wandering in a friends garden late one September night. Bomber lived with us for three years and was a very remarkable creature. It was heartbreaking to take him to be put to sleep that Christmas due to cancer - but at least hed had a long and happy time with us. | | Bella & Lucia
Our two current cats are Bella, who is black and white, and Lucia who is ginger. Despite being sisters, Bella and Lucia are as different in personality as they are in coat colour! Lucia is very Street Wise and confident and happy to be stroked by anyone or sit on a knee. Bella on the other hand is quite a nervous cat and easily intimidated by the many neighbourhood cats who regularly visit our garden. Although not a one for sitting on laps, Bella is very affectionate with adults, but overall prefers a quiet life. |
| PatchPatch is a Fantail Goldfish, transferred fully grown from a friends pond (which was overstocked with fish) to a very large indoor aquarium in 1998. Originally Patch had a Goldfish mate, Ruby, who sadly died three years later. We expected that Patch wouldnt last much longer than Ruby, but eleven years on and hes still looking healthy and perky despite his solitary life. We have a very cat friendly garden it seems, as there is always a handful of cats curled up in the shrubbery or lying sprawled on the gravel, particularly when the sun shines. Although we dont always mark the spot where a dear departed creature is buried, we do have various pet tributes dotted about in our garden to mark their lives. The photograph shown at the introduction to our Bespoke Range of Memorials is one such tribute it is a Grey Slate Engraved Memorial Plaque in memory of our two dear old cats Roxy and Amboise. They left us many years ago now, but even so just looking at their names helps bring back so many happy memories.
We hope that you will find our website of interest as we aim to offer a wide variety of high quality products as well as providing excellent and friendly service to our customers.
